Asha’s Approach

Asha understands the complex emotions that accompany the journey of life, where clarity about oneself can feel increasingly elusive. She recognizes the bittersweet dance between the exhilaration of self-discovery and the heartache of feeling misplaced or unaccepted, especially in the workplace. These feelings are more than just passing thoughts; they can weigh heavily, creating a sense of isolation. Her awareness extends to the emotional rollercoaster of perinatal mental health, where the vulnerability of new experiences can impact relationships and overall well-being.

Asha knows that this journey is not just about moments of joy or despair but about the rich tapestry of life that weaves through both. With an integrative approach, Asha uses best practice interventions from Positive Psychology, CBT, Mindfulness, and Narrative Therapy. She is also able to utilize a faith-based lens with clients who desireto integrate theology and psychology. She believes in the power of personal growth and emotional resilience, encouraging a deeper exploration of one’s identity. Through compassionate support, she aims to help others navigate their paths toward authenticity, fostering a sense of belonging and fulfillment in every facet of life.

ABOUT asha

Asha has devoted the past 17 years of her career to roles that prioritize the well-being and functioning of individuals as they navigate changes and pursue optimal personal and professional wellness. After a significant tenure in Human Resources, where she observed the detrimental effects of unhealthy workplace dynamics in the mental well-being of employees—specifically women and minorities, Asha courageously transitioned into the mental health field. She became a clinical therapist committed to empowering these groups by helping them expand their visions, find their voices, and strengthen their sense of selves to lead a more fulfilling life.

When Asha’s clients perceive their workplace as the source of their stress or unhappiness, she offers a distinctive viewpoint, drawing from her experience as a HR professional and strengths based career coach.  Asha’s diverse career background enables her to comprehend the challenges they may encounter in their work environments. Asha continues to utilize her skills by serving on the Board of Directors as an HR consultant for RIZE Prevention, a non-profit organization committed to early intervention using an evidenced-based program to empower youth to live drug-free.

Asha's enthusiasm for guiding women and minorities through pivotal seasons also encompasses the prenatal and postpartum stages. She partners with BirthMatters, a non-profit organization that advocates for healthy families through health education and doula support. Asha leads psycho-educational workshops and provides culturally sensitive, compassionate counseling to young mothers throughout their perinatal journeys. She has facilitated workshops focused on self-care and self-awareness during this crucial time. Additionally, Asha plays an active role as a community partner and committee member in Spartanburg County for Pregnancy and Infant Loss Awareness Month, which is recognized globally as the International Wave of Light event. During this meaningful occasion, she conducts ceremonies to help mothers process their grief and honor the lives of their babies lost.

At Milk and Honey Milestones, Asha creates an environment where every woman, every mother, and every minority feels both supported, seen and empowered as they navigate pivotal life seasons. Asha encourages the embrace of their unique identities, values, and voices, while enabling them to recognize the keys to their strength and resilience. By taking control of the narratives of their own stories, she believes they can fully harness their inherent superpowers as they reach each milestone on the journey to healing and wholeness.
