Laura understands how hard it can be to manage the demands of life: Family, children, business, and the endless to-do list that often leaves professionals feeling exhausted and burned out. Laura takes an integrative approach that combines best practice therapeutic interventions as well as coaching models to help her clients experience balance and clarity in all aspects of their lives.
ABOUT Laura
With over 15 years of dedicated service in the mental health field, Laura brings a wealth of experience to her role as a therapist. As the co-owner and co-founder of Five Forks Counseling Group, LLP, she is committed to building a practice that prioritizes excellent client care. Additionally, her certification as a South Carolina-approved LMFT Supervisor underscores her commitment to mentoring and guiding the next generation of therapists.
Laura's interest in education extends beyond her private practice; she serves as adjunct faculty at both Converse University and Auburn University in their Marriage and Family Therapy departments. Beyond the classroom, Laura has led regional and global workshops on a variety of topics, including entrepreneurial burnout, marketing strategies for mental health professionals, business development in the therapy field, and effective treatments for chronic insomnia.
Laura’s recent graduation from Clemson’s MBA program in Entrepreneurship and Innovation allows her to bring a unique perspective to her practice. This business training has equipped her with valuable insights into the challenges faced by overworked entrepreneurs who often struggle to find balance amidst the demands of their professional lives. Drawing also from her firsthand experience, Laura offers support and practical strategies to help her clients achieve balance and fulfillment.
Laura understands that there is no one-size-fits-all solution in therapy, as each client brings their own unique story, strengths, and challenges. With compassion and expertise, Laura collaborates with her clients to develop effective strategies they can use long after therapy has ended.
